Dis-Chem Pharmacies is seeking a qualified Pharmacist Assistant with Post Basic Qualification (PBQ) for their Victory Park store. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing medications, offering pharmaceutical expertise to patients and healthcare professionals, and ensuring the safe and effective use of prescription medications.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / Matric - Post Basic Pharmacist Assistant Qualification - Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) - Willingness and ability to work retail hours - Advantageous: Knowledge of Retail/FMCG operations - Knowledge of or experience in SAP and E-Scripting - Unisolve Experience

Duties and Responsibilities

• Dispensing Medications: Accurately interpret scripts and act professionally within legal requirements as per the South African Pharmacy Council. Ensure precise picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medication. Provide correct dosage and interaction information to patients. - Customer Service: Advise and assist patients at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front-shop. Follow up on script tracking reports and appointments. Explain medical aid costs to patients and promote health information. - Administration: Process all necessary paperwork for claims submission to medical schemes. Correct errors on rejected scripts. Ensure authorization of chronic, HIV, and oncology medications. Maintain accurate customer profiles and follow up on any customer profile messages. - Stock Control: Report low/out of stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager. Facilitate bi-annual stock takes and manage stock, cash, and asset control. - General: Maintain the store according to Dis-Chem standards. Adhere to policies, procedures, and health and safety rules. Ensure workstations and fridges are clutter-free. Wear Dis-Chem approved uniforms.

Role Competencies

• Knowledge and understanding of Unisolv SAP - Ability to find solutions to issues and escalate problems when necessary - Excellent communication skills - Timely resolution of customer queries - Personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work - Patience and calm demeanor in stressful situations - Technical skills in computers, including Microsoft Office and Unisolv E-Scripting
