**Job Description**
We are seeking a dedicated Potato Laboratory Technician to oversee the quality of our seed potatoes, ensuring the highest standards of our cultivar production.
**Requirements**
The successful candidate should possess
- A Grade 12 certificate - Preference for a BSc degree or National diploma in Microbiology, Plant Pathology, Botany, Genetics, or similar courses - Minimum of two years practical experience with ELISA, preferably in Plant Pathology, Microbiology, Botany, or Genetics - Proficiency in computer literacy, particularly in Excel - Willingness to undergo training - Experience in laboratory work or any science field is advantageous

- Honest and loyal - Hardworking with excellent communication skills - Willing to work extended hours - Clear criminal record - Strong administrative capabilities
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Prepare test samples and conduct routine physical and chemical tests for production conformity - Analyze and record qualitative and quantitative test data - Maintain laboratory equipment and order necessary parts - Perform official and unofficial virus and bacterial tests on seed potatoes - Prepare buffers and execute tests, ensuring results are processed and published - Collaborate closely with on-site Technologists - Handle all samples with confidentiality and integrity - Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required - Provide administrative support - Deliver high-quality service to internal clients

- Good administration skills - Effective communication in English and Afrikaans - Planning and organizational capabilities
