Dis-Chem Pharmacies, specifically the Baby City Pavilion, is seeking a dedicated Sales Associate. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service, managing inventory, processing transactions, and maintaining high standards of product presentation.
Minimum Requirements: - Essential: Grade 12 / Matric - Minimum of 1 year of work experience in retail - Up to 6 months’ experience in a retail environment preferred - Advantageous: Certification in Retail Business Management
Role and Responsibilities
- Report low stock levels, out-of-stock items, damaged stock, and expired inventory to management. - Assist with stock counting and general stocktaking processes. - Help with the loading and unloading of stock as required. - Immediately identify and report damaged and expired stock to management. - Flatten boxes after unpacking stock and place them in the designated area. - Ensure full product ranges are neatly displayed on shelves and not past their sell-by dates. - Restock merchandise to maximize sales opportunities. - Verify that merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are accurate; report any discrepancies to management. - Stay updated with new product information to effectively assist customers. - Handle all merchandise carefully to prevent losses. - Create stable displays for promotions to ensure timely promotion execution. - Implement monthly promotions effectively to maximize sales. - Timely placement of promotional posters and signage. - Ensure promotional stock is removed promptly after promotions end. - Accurately manage cash flow and adhere to correct cash handling procedures. - Process all purchases, verifying and handling payments including cash, cards, vouchers, and coupons. - Scan and process all outgoing stock/items/scripts. - Process loyalty cards and accelerated partner programs. - Build professional relationships with customers, offering friendly, helpful, and courteous assistance. - Report customer compliments and complaints to management. - Address all customer stock queries and resolve them efficiently.
