The Sales Executive / Sales Representative is responsible for generating new business, maintaining strong client relationships, and increasing revenue through the sale of accommodation, events, conferencing, dining, and other hospitality services. The successful candidate will proactively identify new market opportunities, conduct sales visits, negotiate contracts, and represent the property professionally within the hospitality industry. Key ResponsibilitiesIdentify and secure new business opportunities across the corporate, leisure, travel trade, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) markets. Build and maintain long-term relationships with travel agents, tour operators, corporate clients, event planners, and key stakeholders. Conduct regular sales calls, site inspections, client presentations, and networking events. Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and occupancy targets. Promote accommodation, conferencing, restaurant, wedding, and event facilities. Prepare and present proposals, quotations, and contracts to prospective clients. Negotiate rates and service agreements in line with company policies. Follow up on enquiries and convert leads into confirmed business. Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and update the CRM system regularly. Achieve monthly and annual sales targets. Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs. Attend trade shows, exhibitions, and industry networking events. Work closely with Reservations, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Operations to ensure seamless service delivery. Prepare weekly and monthly sales activity and performance reports. Maintain excellent product knowledge of the property and surrounding attractions. Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
Minimum Qualifications Grade 12 (Matric). Diploma or Degree in Sales, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related field is advantageous. Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in a sales role within the hospitality industry. Proven experience selling hotel, lodge, or tourism products. Established network within the corporate, travel, tourism, or hospitality sectors is highly advantageous. Proven track record of consistently meeting or exceeding sales targets. Knowledge & Skills Strong understanding of hospitality sales and revenue generation. Excellent negotiation, presentation, and closing skills. Strong business development and relationship management abilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). Experience using CRM systems and hotel reservation or property management systems is advantageous. Strong organisational, planning, and time management skills. Ability to analyse sales data and market trends. Self-motivated with excellent problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and manage multiple accounts. Working Conditions Full-time, live-out position based in Hout Bay, Western Cape. Primarily office-based with frequent local and regional travel to meet clients and attend industry events. May require occasional after-hours work to support client functions, promotional events, or business networking opportunities.
