Our esteemed client, a prominent player in the furniture and interior design sector, is on the lookout for an adept and energetic Showroom Manager to join their team in Paarl, Cape Town. This role is ideal for a sales-oriented professional who thrives in showroom management, possesses an extensive trade network, and has a passion for high-quality furnishings and interiors. The chosen candidate will spearhead retail and trade sales, cultivate vital client relationships, and ensure an outstanding showroom and customer experience.

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Permanent SECTOR: Sales COMPENSATION: R18 000.00 – R22 000.00 + Commission START DATE: As soon as possible

REQUIREMENTS: 3–5+ years of experience in showroom management or senior retail sales within the furniture, home décor, or interior design industry. Proven track record of building and maintaining connections with interior decorators, architects, and procurement clients in the Winelands/Cape Town area. Thorough knowledge of furniture manufacturing, upholstery, timbers, fabrics, and indoor/outdoor material performance. Proficient in inventory/POS software (e.g. OMNI, SAP, or similar retail ERP systems), as well as Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with a sophisticated and consultative sales approach. Fluency in English and Afrikaans, necessary for the local Paarl customer base. Possession of a valid South African Driver’s License and reliable transportation. Demonstrated success in achieving showroom sales targets for both retail and trade. Proven ability to expand the trade customer base, including successful registration and onboarding of new active trade accounts. Ability to maintain showroom visual standards and floor presentation, emphasizing operational excellence and zero audit discrepancies. Commitment to delivering superior customer service, including effective post-purchase support and timely resolution of customer issues.

DUTIES: Sales & Business Development (Retail & Trade): Achieve and surpass monthly and annual revenue targets through showroom sales performance. Cultivate and manage relationships with local interior designers, architects, and property developers to enhance the trade pipeline. Host private trade consultations, showroom tours, and exclusive networking events for trade partners. Assist retail customers with personalized design consultations, product specifications, customization options, and material choices.

Showroom Management & Operations: Ensure impeccable visual merchandising, layout standards, and floor displays in accordance with brand guidelines. Oversee daily floor operations, providing a luxurious hospitality experience for all visitors. Manage end-to-end sales processing, customer quotations, orders, and payment reconciliations via the ERP/POS system. Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to maintain seamless delivery and installation timelines for trade and retail clients.

Team Leadership & Coaching: Lead, mentor, and inspire showroom sales staff to deliver outstanding customer service. Set individual sales targets, monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and conduct regular performance reviews. Provide ongoing training in product knowledge, objection handling, and trade sales strategies to the sales team.

Reporting & Inventory Control: Conduct stock audits, monitor inventory levels, and manage showroom display floor stock. Provide weekly and monthly reports on sales performance, foot traffic, conversion rates, and trade account activity to executive leadership.
