Requirements
- 2â4 years of sales experience in luxury furniture, home dĂŠcor, finishes, or high-end interior retail. - Profound knowledge of interior design, textiles, timbers, custom upholstery specifications, and spatial planning. - Familiarity with Cape Townâs interior design and procurement sector is highly beneficial. - Proficient in using retail ERP/POS systems (e.g., OMNI), email correspondence, and basic Excel or Google Sheets. - Fluent in English; Afrikaans proficiency is advantageous. - Outstanding verbal presentation and written communication abilities. - Excellent interpersonal skills, active listening, time management, and organizational skills. - Proven track record in meeting or exceeding monthly sales targets. - High conversion rate from quotes to closed sales. - Ability to onboard local trade clients and generate repeat sales orders. - Exceptional administrative accuracy with no errors in customer sales orders, custom specifications, and payment balances.
Duties
Sales Generation & Consultative Selling
- Attain and surpass individual monthly sales targets across retail and trade sectors. - Offer personalized design consultations to clients, assisting with spatial layout planning, fabric selection, timber finishes, and customized furniture specifications. - Follow up systematically on open quotes, client queries, and trade projects to enhance sales conversion.
Trade & Decorator Client Relations
- Develop and maintain relationships with interior designers, decorators, architects, and hospitality buyers in the Paarden Eiland design hub. - Process trade applications, issue project quotations, order fabric swatches, and manage lead times for industry professionals. - Keep a current client database for regular updates on new collection launches and trade offers.
Showroom Operations & Floor Standards
- Maintain showroom presentation, styled vignettes, price tags, and fabric sample swatches in pristine condition. - Process quotes, sales orders, lay-bys, and payments via the retail POS/ERP system (e.g., OMNI). - Coordinate with logistics, manufacturing, and warehouse teams for accurate lead times and delivery schedule updates.
