Job Overview
Tumaini Consulting is seeking an experienced Actuarial Specialist to join our growing team. This role is embedded within the General Insurance division, where you will collaborate closely with the Director of the General Insurance team, offering actuarial and technical support to our clients. The division also oversees Enterprise Risk and Capital Management as well as Data Analytics.
Key Responsibilities and Requirements - Reporting directly to the Director of the General Insurance team, the successful candidate will provide expert actuarial and technical assistance to clients. - The position demands 5 – 8 years of experience in General Insurance, preferably in pricing, reserving, or capital modelling. - A Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field is mandatory. - Proficiency in statistical modelling and programming languages such as R is essential. - Qualified Actuary status is required. - Holding a short-term insurance practicing certificate is advantageous. - Experience with SAM, ORSA’s, valuations, and solvency calculations is beneficial. - A strong work ethic and motivation are prerequisites. - Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written in English, are necessary for clearly conveying complex ideas. - Ability to meet deadlines and provide timely feedback on progress. - Exceptional attention to detail.
