Job Description

TWK Agri, a leading entity in the agricultural sector, is currently seeking a Corporate Financial Accountant for a contract role within its Finance division, based in Pretoria, Gauteng.

Job Summary

This position entails overseeing financial reporting, general ledger management, compliance activities, financial analysis, and accounting processes to bolster sound financial management throughout the organization. The Corporate Financial Accountant must ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data, aid in budgeting and forecasting, uphold effective financial controls, and furnish financial insights to inform decision-making.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements - Support month-end and year-end accounting and reporting processes - Maintain, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts - Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and reconciling items - Ensure accurate recording and proper documentation of accounting transactions - Assist with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and cash flow administration - Prepare and support tax submissions and statutory reporting requirements - Aid internal and external audits through report preparation and documentation - Monitor compliance with accounting standards, company policies, and internal controls - Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities - Compile financial analyses and management reports to aid business decision-making - Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on financial matters - Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting systems

Qualifications and Skills

• Matric / Grade 12 with Accounting and Mathematics - BCom Accounting, BCom Financial Accounting, or equivalent qualification - Professional accounting designation or progress towards a professional designation (advantageous) - 3-5 years' experience in financial accounting, financial reporting, or a related accounting environment - Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and statutory compliance requirements - Experience with general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end processes - Experience supporting audits, budgeting, and financial analysis activities - Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills - Strong analytical, problem-solving, and numerical abilities - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Good communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet reporting deadlines - Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment - Strong organizational and stakeholder engagement skills
