BRIEF DESCRIPTION:-
The Skilled Artisan - Carpentry (Production Grade A-C) role involves designing and producing high-quality carpentry projects, conducting quality assurance checks, and maintaining equipment and facilities. The successful candidate will possess a Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry, a valid driver's license, and in-depth knowledge of Public Service Legislation and the Occupational Health and Safety Act. They will also have strong technical writing skills, problem-solving abilities, and excellent teamwork and communication skills.

**Compensation Package:**
The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary package ranging from R253,341.00 to R424,371.00 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. This offer is contingent upon the submission of a Trade test certificate and verification of recognized experience, which will be requested from shortlisted applicants.

**Requirements:**
To be considered for this position, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- A valid Trade Test Certificate in Carpentry * A minimum of 0-2 years of experience in the related field * A valid driver's license * In-depth knowledge of Public Service Legislation, Policies, and Regulations * Familiarity with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act) * Understanding of Departmental policies, strategies, and procedures * Proficiency in computer-aided technical applications * Knowledge of legal compliance and production processes * Strong technical writing skills * Ability to problem-solve, analyze, and make informed decisions * Excellent teamwork, communication, and analytical skills * Self-management and planning/organizing skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

**Key Responsibilities:**
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- Designing and producing carpentry projects according to client specifications and within the limits of production capability * Utilizing materials and equipment to produce high-quality objects according to job specifications and recognized standards * Conducting quality assurance checks on produced objects * Identifying and resolving technical faults in equipment and/or facilities * Repairing and testing equipment and/or facilities against specifications * Scheduling and performing routine maintenance and servicing of equipment and/or facilities * Maintaining accurate records and submitting reports as required * Contributing to the development of operational plans and procedures * Supervising and mentoring staff to ensure high levels of performance and productivity * Staying up-to-date with new technologies and procedures to maintain individual development and expertise.
