An exciting opportunity has emerged for a skilled Toolmaker to support the manufacturing, maintenance, and repair of injection moulding tools within our client’s manufacturing plant. The chosen candidate will be responsible for the production, upkeep, and repair of injection moulding tools and related equipment.
Key Responsibilities: • Manufacture, maintain, and repair injection moulding tools and associated tooling • Carry out preventative maintenance on moulds and tooling • Strip, inspect, and evaluate mould components for wear or damage • Diagnose and repair any tooling faults • Assemble and fit precision components according to specifications • Conduct machining, grinding, and fitting activities as necessary • Collaborate on mould modifications and enhancements • Interpret engineering drawings and tooling specifications • Perform dimensional checks on manufactured and repaired components • Work closely with production and maintenance teams to reduce tooling downtime • Maintain precise records of tooling and maintenance activities • Ensure tools are maintained to required quality and precision standards • Comply with health and safety regulations and maintain good housekeeping practices
Minimum Requirements: • Matric • Toolmaker Trade Test • Experience with injection moulding tooling • Proven experience in manufacturing, repairing, or maintaining injection moulds • Precision fitting and machining skills • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings • Familiarity with measuring and inspection equipment • Knowledge of mould components and tooling principles
