Our client, a leading player in the FMCG industry, is currently looking for an experienced Electrician to bolster the electrical reliability of their facility. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling a variety of electrical maintenance and troubleshooting tasks to ensure optimal plant availability.
Responsibilities: • Perform regular electrical maintenance and repair on production equipment • Address and resolve electrical breakdowns to restore equipment functionality • Identify and diagnose faults in motors, drives, sensors, and control circuits • Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance activities • Maintain electrical panels, machinery, and plant systems • Assist with PLC and automation troubleshooting tasks • Conduct electrical inspections and testing • Support machinery installations and equipment upgrades • Participate in planned shutdowns and maintenance projects • Investigate and address recurring electrical faults, and assist with corrective actions • Complete maintenance reports and job cards • Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues • Follow all applicable electrical, safety, and housekeeping procedures
Requirements: • Matric qualification • Completion of an Electrician Trade Test • Experience in electrical maintenance within the FMCG sector • Experience working on production equipment • Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills • Familiarity with PLCs, VSDs, and industrial control systems (advantageous) • Ability to interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings • Understanding of preventative maintenance principles
