We are excited to announce a critical opening for aĀ Cloud Infrastructure & Security Operations LeadĀ at a pioneering software company in Centurion, Gauteng. This role involves overseeing, managing, and securing our cloud infrastructure, predominantly utilizing Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
This position emphasizes operational roles, focusing on system maintenance, support, and security management, rather than deep front-end architectural design. As a key member of our InfoSec team (ISMS), you will be responsible for driving technical compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous monitoring in accordance with ISO 27001 standards and established SDLC governance.
The ideal candidate is a methodical, results-oriented professional who values stability, security, and ongoing support.
Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure and Operations: System Maintenance & Health: Oversee, monitor, and optimize cloud infrastructure (including compute, networking, IAM, storage, and database services), with a primary focus on GCP. Escalation: Offer advanced troubleshooting and incident resolution for intricate cloud infrastructure problems. Operational Oversight: Ensure infrastructure uptime, disaster recovery (DR) readiness, automated backups, and cost optimization. SDLC Operational Support: Assist engineering teams in deploying code within the established SDLC frameworks and CI/CD pipelines.
InfoSec and ISO 27001 Governance: ISMS Integration: Serve as the primary technical leader in the Information Security Management System (ISMS) team. ISO 27001 Compliance: Implement controls, gather audit evidence, conduct access reviews, and maintain compliance artifacts for annual ISO 27001 certifications. Vulnerability & Threat Management: Execute vulnerability scans, manage patches, and remediate issues across cloud assets; monitor security tools (e.g., GCP Security Command Center). Access & Governance: Audit and oversee Identity and Access Management (IAM), Least Privilege access, and network security policies (VPC, firewalls).
KPIs: ISO 27001 Compliance Rate: Achieve zero high-risk non-conformities during internal and external audits. Uptime & SLA Adherence: Maintain core cloud infrastructure availability targets. Incident Response & MTTR: Ensure Mean Time to Resolution for Tier 3 security and infrastructure incidents. SDLC Compliance: Guarantee 100% compliance of deployed environments with secure SDLC guidelines.
Requirements: Cloud Infrastructure Expertise: Proven experience in managing and securing cloud environments; preference for GCP, but AWS or Azure experience is also valuable. Security & Governance: Background in working within an ISO 27001, SOC 2, or NIST compliant framework. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency with Terraform or scripting tools for infrastructure management. Monitoring & Logging: Familiarity with cloud logging, monitoring solutions, or SIEM tools.
Certifications: Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer / Cloud Engineer AWS / Azure Security or Administrator Certifications ISO 27001 Lead Implementer / Auditor or CompTIA Security+
