We are currently seeking a highly skilled Control System Engineer for our reputable client, an esteemed international engineering integration and manufacturing firm. This permanent position is based in Pretoria and offers an opportunity for an accomplished professional with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industrial automation experience to join our engineering team.
The primary objective of this role is to oversee the design, development, and testing of control systems tailored to meet specific client requirements.
Requirements: - Degree, Technical Diploma, or NQF Equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, or Mechatronic Engineering. - A minimum of 5 years in industrial automation. - Practical experience in control system design, development, FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) testing, and commissioning. - Intermediate to advanced understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, with practical experience in two of the following platforms: Siemens, Schneider, Allan Bradley, Omron, Beckhoff, Mitsubishi. - Intermediate to advanced understanding of SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) development, with practical experience in two of the following platforms: Wonderware, Siemens, Schneider, Allan Bradley, Adroit. - Intermediate to advanced understanding of relational databases and report generation, with practical experience in Microsoft SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services. - Advantageous experience in Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Building Management Systems (BES), and Environmental Management Systems (EMS). - Advantageous exposure to the FMCG, Food and Beverage, and Milling industries.
Duties include, but are not limited to: - Designing cost-effective solutions to meet customer needs. - Preparing functional and detailed design solutions for effective client development. - Creating system architecture for software implementations. - Designing industrial communication networks for software implementations (ethernet, fibre, Profinet, etc.). - Developing, testing, and implementing PLC programs according to client specifications to ensure optimal functionality. - Developing, testing, and implementing SCADA and/or HMI applications according to client specifications to ensure optimal functionality. - Creating simulation applications for testing and training purposes. - Testing solutions to confirm complete functionality. - Providing post-project system support as needed. - Offering support to clients for callouts and Service Level Agreements (SLA). - Providing training and assistance to ensure clients can effectively use the system within design constraints.
