An established steel processing facility situated in Saldanha is currently seeking a Procurement Specialist. The Procurement Specialist will oversee sourcing and procurement of goods and services, ensuring they meet the established quality, cost, and delivery benchmarks. The ideal candidate will uphold efficient procurement operations, cultivate robust supplier relationships, and support continuous plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Source and procure goods and services from vetted suppliers, prioritizing both cost-effectiveness and quality. - Track and follow up on purchase orders and critical deliveries to ensure timely completion. - Foster and nurture enduring supplier relationships. - Collaborate with suppliers and internal departments to guarantee smooth procurement processes and to prevent operational disruptions. - Explore alternative suppliers and sourcing methods to meet budget and key performance indicators. - Manage collections and dispatches as necessary. - Ensure optimal stock replenishment and availability of essential items. - Maintain procurement documentation and administrative records. - Uphold housekeeping and safety standards within the department. - Adhere to company procurement policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate or equivalent. - Higher qualification in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, or related fields (Diploma or Degree preferred).

Experience

• Minimum of 5 years in Purchasing, Supply Chain, or Procurement. - Experience in a technical, engineering, manufacturing, heavy industrial, or processing environment is advantageous. - Technical knowledge of industrial goods and services is beneficial.
