Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Phase-qualified Mathematics teacher who is enthusiastic about making mathematics both engaging and accessible. In this role, you will be responsible for:

Teaching Mathematics to Grades 4–7, in line with the school’s curriculum and IEB assessment approach Planning and delivering interactive lessons that cultivate mathematical understanding and confidence Establishing robust foundations in numeracy, fractions, decimals, geometry, measurement, data handling, and mathematical reasoning Utilizing innovative methods to present mathematical concepts in a way that resonates with everyday life Enhancing learners’ critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving capabilities Identifying early learning gaps and providing tailored support to students with diverse abilities Designing and conducting meaningful assessments, monitoring progress, and offering constructive feedback Preparing students for the mathematical challenges of the Senior Phase and beyond Creating a positive, supportive, and disciplined classroom atmosphere where students feel safe to ask questions and learn from errors Collaborating with an innovative academic team to enhance teaching and learning methods Engaging in continuous professional development, training, and coaching

Requirements

• Bachelor of Education (BEd) with a Senior Phase Mathematics specialization (non-negotiable) - Permanent SACE registration (non-negotiable) - Minimum 3+ years of Mathematics teaching experience, ideally within an IEB school environment and specifically Grades 4–7 - Comprehensive mathematical content knowledge and expertise in age-appropriate teaching strategies - Proficiency in curriculum planning, assessment design, and differentiated instruction - Ability to articulate mathematical concepts clearly and creatively, fostering learner confidence - Passion for developing mathematical understanding rather than relying on rote learning and repetition - Commitment to nurturing students’ independence, resilience, and a positive attitude towards mathematics - Comfortable working in a small, high-impact, innovation-driven school environment
