Job Description The Dis-Chem Hillfox store seeks a Pharmacist to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for dispensing medications, providing expert pharmaceutical advice to patients and healthcare professionals, and ensuring the safe and effective use of prescription drugs.
Essential Requirements: - Matric or Grade 12 qualification - BPharm or equivalent degree - Registered with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) - Minimum 2-3 years of experience in pharmaceuticals, with a focus on retail pharmacy - Computer literacy, particularly in MS Office - Advantageous: Retail or FMCG experience, a third language, SAP experience, E-scripting experience, Registered tutor, Unisolv experience
Key Responsibilities: 1. Dispensing Medication: Accurately dispense medications under direct supervision, following all legal requirements under the South African Pharmacy Council. This includes accurate interpretation of prescriptions, verifying patient details, ensuring proper picking, packing, labeling, and checking of medications, and educating patients on proper medication use. 2. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service at the dispensary, self-medication counter, and front shop. Follow up on script tracking requests, explain medical aid costs to patients, and maintain accurate customer profiles within the system. 3. Stock Control: Monitor low-stock and out-of-stock levels, report issues to the dispensary manager, facilitate bi-annual stock takes, and exercise control over stock, cash, and assets. 4. Competencies: Possess comprehensive knowledge of medicines, including common dosing regimes, interactions, and counseling. Demonstrate critical thinking, excellent communication skills, and the ability to adapt to diverse community needs. Find solutions to problems, know when to escalate issues, and uphold high-quality standards. Demonstrate time management, patience, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Proficiency in computer, numerical skills, and familiarity with Unisolv and SAP systems are essential.
