Job Description

MSP Staffing (PTY) LTD is seeking a skilled Platform/Cloud Engineer. The successful candidate will manage Kubernetes, handle containerized workloads, utilize CI/CD tools, and support applications deployed on AWS.

Educational Requirements: - AWS Associate level certification or significant years of experience. - Preferred: Kubernetes Application Developer certification or relevant experience.

Experience: - Intermediate to Senior level. - Extensive experience with Kubernetes and containerized workloads. - Familiarity with CI/CD tools and AWS applications. - Expertise in Kubernetes Administration, including Ingress, networking, and RBAC. - Proficient in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDKS. - Experience with Kubernetes GitOps practices using ArgoCD, Flux, Helm, or Kustomize. - Monitoring with Prometheus, Grafana, and CloudWatch. - Strong Linux experience. - Knowledge of distributed systems and architectures. - Experience in building platform APIs, automation, tooling, and/or internal developer platforms.

Key Requirements: - AWS: EKS, VPC, S3, RDS, IAM, Fargate, Lambda, and CloudFront. - Familiarity with AWS Well Architected Frameworks. - Observability and monitoring: Xray, CloudWatch, Open Tracing, and Grafana. - Experience with Kubernetes/EKS. - Proficiency in DevOps practices and CI/CD tools including AWS DevOps Tools and Jenkins. - Knowledge of cloud-native toolsets such as Helm and Kustomize. - Programming languages: Python, Go, Java, and JavaScript. - CI/CD with Jenkins pipelines as code or similar, including GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps. - Kubernetes administration. - Enhance monitoring, observability, and alerting using SLO, SLI, and SLA principles. - Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or Crossplane. - Release management and oversight. - SRE practices including incident response, automation, reliability, and monitoring.
