An exciting opportunity exists for a seasoned Automation Engineer to bolster our client’s automated production operations within the Gauteng region. The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance, enhancement, and optimization of automation and control systems in an FMCG manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities: · Maintain and optimize industrial automation and control systems · Troubleshoot faults related to PLC, HMI, SCADA, and associated control systems · Provide support during automation-related operational disruptions · Develop and implement improvements for automation processes · Assist with the commissioning and integration of automated machinery · Monitor control systems and identify potential reliability enhancements · Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring automation malfunctions · Support preventative maintenance strategies for automated equipment · Collaborate with electrical, instrumentation, maintenance, and production teams · Aid in machine upgrades and process improvement initiatives · Maintain automation programs, backups, and technical documentation · Ensure all automation activities meet safety and operational standards
