Dis-Chem Pharmacies is currently seeking a proficient Temporary Checkout Attendant for the Wonderboom branch. This role involves providing top-tier customer service at the point of sale, ensuring a premium shopping experience. Transactions must be accurately recorded in the Dis-Chem system in adherence to company policies and SOPs, with zero tolerance for errors or fraud.

Essential Qualifications: - Grade 12 / Matric - Minimum 6 months' experience in cashier or till operations - Proficient in MS Office - Strong numerical skills - Excellent command of the English language - Basic customer service skills - Ability to work flexible retail hours

Job Responsibilities: - Follow Dis-Chem's customer service guidelines and procedures - Build professional relationships with customers - Report complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management - Adhere to hourly customer turnover rates - Stay informed about current sales and promotions - Ensure safety for colleagues and customers - Implement Dis-Chem's 5-star communication principles - Manage cash flow and transactions - Approve and sign off on all line voids and price changes - Exchange merchandise and process returns as authorized - Handle all forms of payments accepted by Dis-Chem - Process loyalty cards from partners like Discovery Health Care, Medihelp Lifestage, Momentum Multiply, Legacy Lifestyle, ABSA Rewards, and eBucks - Place cash in drop safe according to Dis-Chem’s SOPs - Maintain personal code and password security - Scan and pay for all outgoing stock/items/scripts - Keep all money safe and secure in the till - Handle daily takings confidentially - Report suspicious behavior to management - Address inquiries about store merchandise - Follow Dis-Chem’s security policies and procedures

Competencies: - In-depth knowledge of operating cash registers and managing cash drawers - Expertise in processing sales, refunds, and payments - Strong command of English (both written and oral) - High level of accuracy and attention to detail - Presentable appearance - Emotional intelligence and social awareness - Accountability and problem-solving skills - Ability to analyze basic reports - Trustworthiness and honesty - Effective time management
