Role Purpose: We are seeking a dedicated Development Technologist to join our development team, focusing on innovation and new product development for both local and international clients. The position will cover various grocery categories, including wet condiments, sauces, and other food items, as well as Special Buys. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing innovative product concepts and recipes, overseeing projects from concept to launch.
Key Functional Duties: - Develop and refine commercially viable product concepts and recipes within multiple grocery categories. - Support recipe formulation, product optimization, and cost estimations. - Lead projects from initial concept to successful launch. - Create and manage project plans, timelines, and deliverables. - Coordinate cross-functional activities and maintain stakeholder alignment throughout the project lifecycle. - Collaborate with other Libstar business units, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to support product development and project delivery. - Oversee artwork development and adaptation across different customers and international markets. - Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and market requirements for products and artwork. - Prepare and maintain product specifications, Bills of Materials, and technical documentation. - Support packaging development, factory trials, travel tests, and initial production runs. - Identify project risks and implement corrective actions to keep projects on schedule.
Education and Experience Requirements: - Degree or Diploma in Food Technology, Food Science, or Consumer Science. - 2-5 years of experience in product development within the FMCG or food manufacturing sector. - Prior experience with grocery products, sauces, condiments, or other food categories is advantageous. - Project management experience is advantageous. - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong communication skills.
