**Introduction**

Clicks Retailers is seeking a highly skilled and reliable Driver to join our Store Operations team. Based at Clicks The Point, this role will report directly to the Store Manager, playing a vital part in maintaining a seamless and trustworthy experience for our customers.

**Job Description**

**Job Purpose**

As a Driver, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the safe, accurate, timely, and confidential delivery of prescription medications and healthcare products to our customers. This role demands a high level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail to maintain trust and reliability between our pharmacy and its clients.

In this role, you will be responsible for delivering customer parcels on a specified route, prioritizing urgent deliveries, and handling temperature-sensitive and scheduled medications with utmost care. You will also be accountable for maintaining the required cold-chain conditions for refrigerated medicines and products, as well as ensuring that all parcels are loaded, organized, and secured to prevent loss, damage, or delivery errors.

**Job Objectives**

Your key objectives will include

• Delivering prescription and OTC medications and healthcare products safely and on time to patients at residential homes, clinics, retirement homes, and hospitals. - Prioritizing urgent deliveries in line with instructions from the Pharmacy or Store Manager. - Handling temperature-sensitive and scheduled medication securely in accordance with the pharmacy's approved procedures. - Maintaining the required cold-chain conditions for refrigerated medicines and products, including the correct use of ice packs or other approved temperature-control packaging. - Obtaining signatures and maintaining proof-of-delivery records that are complete and accurate. - Maintaining patient confidentiality, including during transport, handover, and return of parcels (if necessary). - Communicating professionally with patients/customers and healthcare staff. - Relaying patient or customer concerns or queries to the Store Manager. - Returning undelivered or rejected items to the dispensary with the relevant documentation. - Ensuring that the vehicle/E-bike is cleaned regularly and the battery is placed in the appropriate charging device at the end of every shift. - Completing check sheets for deliveries accurately. - Confirming the accurate number of parcels beforehand. - Ensuring that all duties allocated by the Pharmacy or Store Manager are carried out and completed, which may involve duties within the store environment. - Wearing all company-issued and required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while performing delivery duties, and ensuring PPE is used correctly and kept in a safe, serviceable condition. - Safeguarding the company-issued motorcycle/e-bike and all company property, equipment, and devices assigned to you, ensuring they are used responsibly, secured appropriately when unattended, and protected against loss, theft, damage, or misuse. - Reporting any loss, damage, defect, or security concern promptly to the Store Manager. - Maintaining safe and responsible driving practices at all times, ensuring full compliance with all applicable road traffic laws and regulations.

**Minimum Requirements**

**Experience**

• Essential: - Experienced Driver with a valid Code A or A1 driver license approved by the South African Road Traffic Act. - No traffic violations on record. - Police Clearance certificate. - Delivery experience. - Desirable: - Experience in a customer-facing role within a retail/FMCG store operations environment.

**Education**

• National Senior Certificate/Grade 12 (Matric pass).

**Job Knowledge**

• Basic knowledge of delivery and pharmacy procedures. - High level of integrity and responsibility. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle medication with care. - Knowledge of customer service excellence. - Knowledge of merchandise and stock management principles.
