Our client based in Port Elizabeth, Eastern Cape, is actively seeking a seasoned Electrical Draughtsperson for the Manufacturing Automotive sector. The position offers a competitive salary of R26 000 per month.
Key Responsibilities: - Deliver and update precise electrical drawings (single line, schematics, layouts, and cable schedules). - Ensure all electrical documentation is current, version-controlled, and accessible. - Maintain compliance with ISO 50001 in all energy-related electrical documents. - Monitor, implement, and document changes in electrical drawings and as-built updates. - Conduct research on best practices, new technologies, and future electrical design trends. - Prepare comprehensive technical presentations for the Senior Design Engineer. - Identify and initiate continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives. - Lead electrical design from concept to implementation on various projects. - Ensure project delivery on time, within budget, and with minimal risk. - Contribute to budget preparation and manage expenditures meticulously. - Identify risks, maintain the departmental risk register, and report to management. - Guarantee full compliance with all applicable standards, regulations, and company procedures. - Prevent wasteful and irregular expenditures. - Establish and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Production, Maintenance, Projects). - Represent the department in technical meetings and problem-solving forums. - Resolve drawing-related inquiries promptly and professionally.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications: - National Diploma in Electrical Engineering (NQF 6) – Light or Heavy Current. - Up to 3 years of experience in electrical draughting/design within a manufacturing environment. - Matric / Grade 12. - Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical and/or EPLAN or similar (essential). - Thorough understanding of electrical installations, SANS 10142, IEC standards, and ISO 50001. - Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint – for presentations).
