Position: Qualified Electrician – Solar Industry Location: Diep River

An established player in the solar energy sector is on the lookout for a newly qualified Electrician who has recently passed their Red Seal / Electrical Trade Test and is keen to hone their expertise. This position is ideal for a dependable, hands-on professional who embodies a positive attitude and a robust work ethic, along with a strong desire to learn. The chosen candidate will undergo extensive training covering solar installation, battery backup, and maintenance protocols, gaining practical experience within the renewable energy field.

Minimum Requirements

• Recently completed Red Seal / Electrical Trade Test - Proficient knowledge of single-phase electrical systems, electrical testing, and safe working practices - Valid driver’s license - Willingness to travel to remote project sites occasionally - Capability to perform practical installation tasks and work at heights, with post-hire attainment of the necessary working-at-heights certification - A responsible attitude towards safety, tools, and equipment - Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team - Dependability, initiative, and a genuine interest in professional growth

Key Responsibilities

With thorough training and guidance, the successful candidate will:

• Assist with site inspections and preparation for electrical and solar installations - Prepare and update lists of installation materials - Install solar PV systems, inverters, and battery backup systems - Aid in connecting systems to the electrical supply and segregating essential and non-essential circuits - Support electrical testing, fault finding, and system commissioning - Set up internet connectivity and system monitoring applications - Explain system operation and monitoring applications to clients - Conduct routine maintenance, preventative inspections, and client callouts - Perform minor electrical tasks and assist with energy-efficiency improvements - Maintain precise project updates and communicate progress to the team - Provide support to other installation teams as required - Adhere to company procedures and electrical safety requirements
