The Engineering Technician Grade A/B/C role involves delivering technical services and providing support in project implementation for the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development in KwaZulu-Natal. Key responsibilities include technical support, project management, research and development, and adherence to engineering norms and standards. Candidates must hold a relevant diploma, be registered with ECSA, have a valid driver’s license, and possess at least three years of post-qualification technical experience.

REQUIREMENTS
Holding an NQF level 06 National Diploma in Agricultural Engineering or Civil Engineering, compulsory registration with ECSA as an Engineering Technician, and possessing a valid driver’s license are mandatory.
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in post-qualification technical (engineering) experience is required.
Knowledge: Proficiency in legal compliance, engineering norms and standards, technical design and analysis, and computer-aided engineering applications is essential.
SKILLS
Technical skills: Expertise in project management, technical design and analysis, research and development, computer-aided engineering applications, technical report writing, and technical consulting is necessary.
Generic skills: Competence in problem solving and analysis, decision making, teamwork, creativity, customer focus and responsiveness, communication, people management, planning and organizing, and change management is required.
DUTIES
Deliver technical services to the District and offer technical support in project implementation.
Advise and guide on various projects, conduct research and development, and perform administrative and related functions.
