Tsebo Facilities Solutions is seeking a Technician who will be entrusted with technical maintenance, HVAC services, electrical safety checks, and minor repairs across the bank’s branch network and additional assignments as needed. The position ensures that all branches or sites are operational, safe, compliant, and adhere to the required maintenance standards. Complex issues that cannot be resolved on-site should be logged for further attention by the Maintenance Planner or specialized service providers.

Duties & Responsibilities

Technical Maintenance & Repairs

• Carry out maintenance work orders in compliance with agreed standards and service specifications. - Conduct electrical repairs involving lighting, switches, sockets, DB components, breakers, and related systems. - Perform plumbing maintenance tasks, such as minor leak repairs, drain clearing, and fitting replacements. - Complete building fabric repairs including ceilings, doors, locks, tiles, skirting, furniture, and general infrastructure upkeep. - Execute minor signage repairs and emergency lighting checks. - Ensure all completed work meets quality, safety, and workmanship standards.

HVAC Maintenance & Servicing

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain DX split-unit air conditioning systems. - Provide minor HVAC services including: - Filter cleaning - Visual inspections - Operational performance checks - Basic fault diagnosis - Carry out major HVAC services when necessary, including: - Evaporator and condenser coil cleaning - Refrigerant level inspections - Functional performance testing - Complete HVAC service documentation and checklists. - Ensure issuance and proper recording of HVAC Certificates of Compliance (COCs).

Electrical Compliance & Inspections

• Conduct distribution board (DB) inspections to identify: - Loose connections - Hot spots - Overloading risks - Labelling deficiencies - Perform lighting inspections and replacements. - Assist with UPS, inverter, and backup power system inspections. - Support annual Electrical Certificate of Compliance through accurate inspections and recordkeeping. - Implement safe isolation and electrical safety procedures at all times.

Building Infrastructure Inspections

• Conduct routine inspections of: - Roofs and ceilings - Flooring and walls - External facades and cladding - Signage and branding elements - Identify defects and recommend corrective actions. - Lead the onsite handyman assistant where applicable.

Compliance Management

• Support compliance readiness for: - Electrical COCs - HVAC COCs - Fire Safety compliance requirements - Ensure maintenance activities comply with SHEQ requirements and relevant legislation.

Reporting & Administration

• Maintain accurate maintenance records. - Complete site inspection reports and checklists. - Prepare monthly reports and operational statistics. - Update digital maintenance systems and documentation as required.

Skills and Competencies

• Expertise in HVAC diagnostics, servicing, and repairs. - Proficiency in electrical fault finding and troubleshooting. - Knowledge of safe electrical isolation procedures. - Skills in plumbing and general building maintenance. - Ability to perform building fabric repair and inspections. - Competence in working at heights. - Expertise in compliance inspections and reporting. - Familiarity with maintenance management systems and documentation. - Ability to supervise and coordinate handyman support resources.

Qualifications

• Qualified Electrical Artisan (Red Seal or equivalent NQF qualification). - Preferred HVAC qualification or proven practical HVAC experience. - HVAC Authorised Refrigeration Practitioner certification. - HVAC Gas Certification. - Valid driver's licence

Experience

• Minimum 3-5 years' experience in electrical and/or HVAC maintenance. - Experience supporting multi-site facilities or branch networks. - Experience using computerized or digital maintenance management systems is advantageous.
