JOB SUMMARY
Deliver clinical support to patients by aiding the Registered Nurse and Enrolled Nurse in providing nursing care that meets quality standards and adheres to safety regulations and the Enrolled Nurse's scope of practice.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Qualifications
- Enrolled Nursing qualification. - Basic Life Support (BLS). - South African Nursing Council Registration (SANC) as an Enrolled Nurse.
Minimum Experience
- 1 - 3 Yearsā experience in psychiatric nursing care. - Previous experience in a private hospital environment is preferred.

DELIVERABLES
- Execute all duties in compliance with the South African Nursing Council (SANC), the Department of Health (DOH), and National Core Standards. - Uphold Patient Advocacy principles as per SANC Acts and Company Code of Conduct, Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter, National Millennium Development Goals, and ensure Continuous Professional Development (CPD). - Plan, organize, assess, and prioritize work for self to ensure efficient task completion under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Enrolled Nurse. - Create a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, visitors, and other stakeholders by promptly identifying safety risks or disasters and requesting assistance from health care support personnel when needed. - Implement care as directed by the Registered Nurse and/or Unit Manager to meet individual patient needs, such as wound care, medication administration, hygiene care, and pressure care, etc. - Support the Registered Nurse and Administration staff in maintaining adequate stock levels, including accurate recording and charging of stock used. - Assist the Registered Nurse during procedures by handling medical equipment and stock as required. - Perform basic assessments of patient vital signs, intake and output, and accurately monitor and record data relating to patient condition. - Escalate any issues to the Registered Nurse or Unit Manager. - Maintain effective communication channels by liaising with all members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care and progress, including providing quality reporting and feedback. - Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas to improve patient care.
Perform all duties in accordance with the scope of practice for Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary and in line with Company policies and procedures, whilst adhering to the Patient Rights and Responsibility Charter.
Receive new patients in accordance with company policy and procedures and conduct any updates on existing patientsā condition under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
