Our client in the plastic manufacturing sector is currently seeking a skilled Fitter to uphold the operational reliability of their machinery.
Responsibilities: · Conduct scheduled preventative and corrective mechanical maintenance. · Address production breakdowns promptly to restore equipment functionality. · Diagnose and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic faults. · Inspect machinery to identify and address maintenance needs. · Maintain and repair various industrial production equipment. · Work on pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, and related machinery. · Assist with machinery installations and commissioning. · Participate in planned maintenance shutdowns and projects. · Support production teams in locating and fixing mechanical issues. · Identify recurring equipment failures and assist with root-cause analysis.
Requirements: · Matric certificate. · Fitter Trade Test certification. · 3-5 years of experience in a plastic manufacturing environment. · Strong background in mechanical maintenance and breakdowns. · Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. · Ability to interpret engineering and mechanical drawings. · Experience working with rotating equipment and production machinery. · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
