Role Summary: Reporting to the IT Services Manager, you will manage and support the Cape Town IT team and back office servers. Your responsibilities will include managing our Azure/Office 365 cloud environment and identities, as well as overseeing all back office products like Active Directory, SQL, our Helpdesk ticketing system, Anti-Virus/Malware, System Management, VMware, and Citrix.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, configure, update, and maintain server software/hardware. - Manage and maintain the companyâs backup systems (Veeam, Azure Backup). - Oversee technical services for the Windows network infrastructure, including Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, Group Policy, Conditional Access, and Microsoft Intune. - Work with Microsoft Purview (Compliance, DLP, Information Protection, IRM, etc.). - Ensure network security with Sophos XDR, Tenable, Microsoft Purview, and FortiClient, adhering to ISO27001 standards. - Assist with the IT infrastructure, including LAN cabling and Server Room. - Monitor and ensure uptime of the IT infrastructure. - Provide 3rd level support or escalate IT Helpdesk calls. - Ensure adherence to company IT standards & policies. - Manage the Vox internal IT suite of applications and services. - Support all IT projects, including upgrades (Server OS, Applications, etc.) and rollouts/migrations. - Assist with Risk/Governance related tasks and projects. - Update documentation for system processes, new implementations, and projects. - Complete daily, weekly, and monthly checks with relevant reporting.
Qualifications
- Matric - MCSE 2019 or equivalent - Current MS 365 / Azure Administrator / Core Infrastructure certification - Office 365 qualification/experience with working knowledge of Office 365 and Azure Intune - 5â10 yearsâ experience in a System Engineer/Support Administrator role with exposure to complex IT systems in medium to large enterprise environments - Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite (Entra ID, Exchange, Purview, Defender, Intune, Azure, Teams, SharePoint) and Microsoft Cloud products - Full working experience of Windows Server 2019/2022/2025, plus knowledge of SQL, Windows IIS, and firewall systems - Extensive knowledge of LAN and WAN protocols, IP networking (FTP, SMTP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, MPLS), and network services (email, internet, firewall) - Experience with backup solutions (e.g. Veeam, Avamar) - Experience administering network security (e.g. FortiClient, Sophos XDR, Tenable, Conditional Access, Wireless) - Experience with reporting tools for gathering IT or network stats - Strong knowledge of desktop hardware, mobile devices, operating systems, and software, and major manufacturers (HP, Dell, Lenovo, etc.) - Scripting and data extraction from Office 365, Active Directory, and Windows
