Job Description

Qpro Feeds is looking for a meticulous and safety-conscious Micro-Weigher to join our team at our Vrede feed mill. Your role will involve the precise weighing, preparation, and distribution of essential micro-ingredients including vitamins, premixes, minerals, and medications.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or NQF Level 4 Equivalent - Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a feed mill or similar setting

Duties and Responsibilities

• Accurately weigh, manually add, and verify micro-ingredients (vitamins, trace minerals, amino acids, and medications) as per automated formulas. - Operate and oversee automated systems for micro-ingredient scaling, mixing, and bin-filling. - Check raw material labels, lot numbers, and expiration dates. - Adhere strictly to batching protocols to avoid cross-contamination. - Monitor micro-ingredient bins, hand-fill micro-boxes safely, and report inventory discrepancies or low stock levels. - Maintain precise batch records, tracking logs, and traceability sheets in line with mill and regulatory standards. - Ensure the micro-dosing area remains impeccably clean and wear necessary personal protective equipment (PPE), including dust masks or respirators, when handling fine powders.
