Perdeberg Cellar, nestled within the esteemed Paarl wine region, is currently seeking a Laboratory Assistant to join their team on a fixed-term contract for the upcoming harvest season.

The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, coupled with robust organizational abilities and a meticulous attention to detail. Proficient time management, the capacity to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines, are crucial for this role.

Key duties and responsibilities encompass, but are not restricted to: cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment; inventory management; assisting the laboratory analyst or manager as needed; participation in wine analysis; general office administration tasks including courier service coordination, adherence to the laboratory's filing system, and switchboard management; and additional duties pertinent to this position.

Essential qualifications, skills, and experience required include: a Matric certificate; relevant experience in a similar role within the wine industry, preferably with hands-on experience in basic hand-method analysis such as volatile acidity (VA), aspiration, pycnometry, protein, cold stability, and pinking analysis; proficient computer literacy in MS Office and WineMS; reliable personal transportation; and a willingness to work according to industry-standard hours.

The contract period for this position is set from January to April 2027.
