Slanghoek Wine Cellar, situated in the renowned Slanghoek Valley near Rawsonville, invites applications for a seasoned Winemaker to bolster their winemaking team. The role seeks an individual who is both hands-on and meticulous, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a positive mindset, and a zeal for crafting superior wines. The successful candidate should possess a solid grasp of the winemaking process and experience in a bustling cellar setting.

Reporting to the Senior Winemaker, responsibilities encompass:

• Overseeing and managing the entire winemaking process, from grape receiving to the final product - Ensuring consistency in quality and compliance with production standards - Coordinating and supervising cellar staff and production activities - Monitoring and enhancing winemaking and production methodologies - Keeping precise production and administrative records - Identifying opportunities to boost efficiency and product quality - Adhering to quality-control and safety regulations (ISO 22000, HACCP, IPW & WIETA) - Collaborating with the broader production team to maintain smooth cellar operations - Undertaking any other duties pertinent to the role

Required qualifications, skills, and experience:

• A relevant degree in Viticulture and/or Oenology • Practical experience in a commercial cellar, particularly in white wine production • Proficient technical knowledge of the winemaking process • Expertise in cellar production and quality-control practices • Familiarity with ISO 22000, HACCP, IPW, and WIETA requirements • Strong administrative and reporting capabilities • Capability to work independently and collaboratively • A valid driver’s license
