Our client is in need of a skilled Fitter to deliver expert mechanical maintenance services within their facility. This role involves addressing breakdowns, supporting preventative maintenance, and ensuring plant reliability.
Duties Include: • Mechanical maintenance and repairs of production equipment • Investigating and resolving mechanical breakdowns • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance tasks • Inspecting machinery and mechanical components for signs of wear and damage • Maintaining and repairing pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, and related equipment • Replacing bearings, seals, couplings, and other mechanical components • Assisting with machinery installations and equipment upgrades • Participating in planned maintenance shutdowns • Conducting mechanical inspections and identifying potential risks • Interpreting mechanical drawings and equipment specifications • Completing maintenance documentation and job cards • Liaising with production teams to resolve equipment-related issues • Adhering to all applicable safety procedures and maintenance standards
Minimum Requirements: • Matric • Fitter Trade Test • Food/beverage FMCG maintenance experience • Mechanical fault-finding and repair skills • Experience working with rotating equipment and mechanical drives • Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles • Ability to interpret technical and mechanical drawings
