ProjectLink, a leading project management consultancy, collaborates with clients to deliver complex projects with precision and integrity. We are on the lookout for a seasoned Project Risk Specialist for a nine-month, full-time contract on a mining project located in Centurion.
The ideal candidate will implement a structured risk-management framework for the upcoming phases of the project, oversee risk discussions with stakeholders, and guarantee that identified risks are continuously monitored and managed throughout the project's lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Governance and Planning
- Formulate the Project Risk Management Plan for subsequent phases of the project * Create, sustain, and update the project risk register regularly * Evaluate project-specific contractual risks * Prepare the Project Insurance Risk Assessment Report
Stakeholder Engagement and Facilitation
- Organize and conduct project risk assessments and workshops * Identify, assess, and prioritize risks in consultation with project, technical, commercial, and other stakeholders * Assign and monitor risk-mitigation actions, owners, and due dates
Monitoring, Reporting and Control
- Monitor changes in project risk exposure and escalate significant issues promptly * Assess the effectiveness of risk responses and controls * Produce regular risk-management reports for project and management review * Maintain precise risk records and supporting documentation
Minimum Requirements
- PMP certification * PMI Risk Management Professional (PMI-RMP) certification * A minimum of five years’ experience in project risk management within the mining sector * Sound knowledge of project-related risks specific to mining projects * Proven experience facilitating risk assessments and workshops * Demonstrated experience in monitoring and controlling project risks * Strong stakeholder-engagement and communication skills
