Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, upgrade, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environmentsDesign, implement, and support Always On Availability GroupsConfigure and manage SQL Server replicationDevelop and maintain backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategiesMonitor, troubleshoot, and optimise SQL Server performanceAnalyse execution plans and perform query tuningOptimise indexes and database statisticsConduct capacity planning and storage managementPerform SQL Server security reviews and implement best practicesCarry out scheduled maintenance, patching, and health checksSupport database migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projectsProduce and maintain accurate technical documentationMentor and provide guidance to junior team membersParticipate in after-hours maintenance and support activities when requiredAutomate routine administration tasks using PowerShell and T-SQLWhat Makes This Role UniqueYou'll be responsible for supporting approximately 25 SQL Server environments across a diverse customer base. Each environment presents its own technologies, business requirements, and operational priorities, providing continuous exposure to new technical challenges.
