An intriguing opportunity awaits an accomplished Lead Construction Financial Manager to join our client's renowned construction team in Cape Town. This position invites you to assume full financial and commercial oversight for various construction projects from project initiation to final settlement, offering you the chance to guide project teams and mentor Junior Financial Managers.
**Key Duties:**
- Oversee the financial and commercial performance of multiple construction projects from initiation to final account completion. - Manage project costs, budgets, cash flow projections, profitability, and provide monthly cost reports. - Secure, assign, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and material procurement. - Draft and submit interim valuations, variation orders, payment certificates, and final accounts. - Handle contractual matters such as JBCC and NEC contracts, claims, and extensions of time (EOTs). - Develop precise monthly cost reports, forecasts, and management insights for project stakeholders. - Engage with clients, consultants, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors on commercial and contractual issues. - Deliver cost control, procurement, and commercial guidance to project teams to ensure adherence to budget and schedule. - Identify and mitigate commercial risks, ensuring compliance with company protocols, reporting standards, and industry regulations. - Offer technical support, mentorship, and direction to Junior Financial Managers and aid in the continual enhancement of commercial procedures.
**Requirements:**
- National Diploma or Degree in Quantity Surveying or related field. - Minimum of 8 years of experience in the construction industry with extensive exposure in commercial, contractual, and financial management. - CCS/Candy certification. - Training in JBCC and NEC contracts. - SACQSP registration is a plus. - Exceptional numeracy, financial management, problem-solving, and analytical skills. - Advanced knowledge of construction methods, materials, regulations, and industry best practices. - Proven track record in subcontractor procurement, contract management, and commercial negotiations. - Significant experience in interim valuations, variation orders, EOT claims, and final account settlements. - Expertise in managing project budgets, cash flow forecasts, cost reports, and profitability. - Outstanding relationship management skills with clients, consultants, suppliers, and subcontractors. - Proficiency in CCS/Candy, BuildSmart, and quantity surveying software systems. - Comprehensive understanding of JBCC and NEC construction contracts.
