Responsibilities

• Perform routine vehicle servicing, including oil and filter changes, fluid checks, and scheduled maintenance. • Identify and resolve mechanical faults through necessary repairs. • Examine and service braking, suspension, engine, and electrical systems. • Conduct vehicle safety inspections and pinpoint defects needing attention. • Support complex mechanical repairs as required. • Recognize and report additional maintenance needs to management. • Ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and meet quality and safety standards. • Accurately complete job cards, service records, and workshop documentation. • Verify that correct parts are used and fitted appropriately. • Maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in optimal working condition. • Ensure the workshop is clean, organized, and compliant with safety procedures. • Mentor and guide junior team members, promoting safe working practices and high-quality workmanship.

Requirements

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate. • Mechanical Qualifications (red seal preferred). • Proven experience in an automotive workshop, ideally at a senior technician level. • Strong practical knowledge in vehicle servicing, mechanical repairs, and maintenance. • Good understanding of engine, braking, suspension, and basic electrical systems. • Ability to diagnose faults and determine appropriate repairs. • Proficient in using workshop tools and basic diagnostic equipment. • Capability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently. • Excellent communication, teamwork, and time management skills. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety. • Physically fit and able to work in an active workshop environment. • Valid driver’s license. • Stable employment history and contactable references.
