We are seeking an organized and meticulous Stock Controller / Quality Controller & Dispatch Assistant for a permanent role in Cape Town within a manufacturing and engineering setting. The ideal candidate will oversee accurate stock management, assist in quality inspections, and manage dispatch operations. Precision and diligence are crucial, as this role plays a key role in procurement, production planning, costing, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Meticulously record stock receipts, issues, returns, and material movements. - Maintain stock records, reconcile physical stock with system records, and investigate any discrepancies. - Verify source documents, material identification, and bill of materials (BOM) details prior to transaction entry. - Support cycle counts, stock takes, and manage materials and offcuts. - Conduct final quality checks against job cards, assessing dimensions, tolerances, finish, quantities, and workmanship. - Utilize basic precision measuring tools and report any defects or questionable work. - Prepare and verify goods for dispatch and collection, ensuring correct items and quantities are sent or returned. - Coordinate dispatch documentation, collections, and route requirements. - Keep detailed records and promptly report shortages, discrepancies, damage, and quality concerns.

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in stock control, stores, or warehouse roles in manufacturing or engineering environments. - Proficient in Excel, with strong numeracy and administrative accuracy. - Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established procedures. - Comfortable working hands-on in a factory setting. - Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently complete checks. - A responsible approach to maintaining stock accuracy, quality, and recordkeeping.

Advantageous

• Experience with BOMs, ERP, SAP, or similar stock systems. - Familiarity with engineering drawings, material grades, and precision measuring equipment. - Previous experience in quality inspections. - Code 8 driver’s license for the dispatch component.
