Inventory Manager – Construction Site

Langebaan, West Coast | R14 000 – R16 000 per month | Permanent Position

A leading construction enterprise seeks a diligent and proactive Inventory Manager for their active residential construction site in Langebaan. This role involves comprehensive responsibility for inventory management on-site. The ideal candidate will ensure that proper stock control is maintained, focusing not just on material counting but also on the accurate reception, recording, distribution, and availability of stock to subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure complete accountability for all stock received, stored, and issued on the construction site. Receive deliveries from suppliers and verify quantities and condition against purchase orders and delivery notes. Record stock accurately as it is brought in and dispatched. Issue stock to subcontractors and maintain precise records of all stock movements. Maintain precise stock records and supporting documentation. Conduct regular stock counts and reconcile any discrepancies. Investigate and address stock inconsistencies and implement corrective actions. Monitor stock levels in collaboration with the Procurement Manager. Keep the stock yard organized, clean, and secure. Ensure consistent adherence to stock procedures. Coordinate with the Creditors Department concerning returns of stock to suppliers. Supervise and manage stock-yard staff assigned duties. Identify and implement improvements in stock-yard processes and controls. Assist subcontractors with material requirements. Be available to start earlier on certain days when subcontractor needs or site demands necessitate it. Support ad hoc operational tasks as required.

Minimum Requirements Matric / Grade 12. Prior experience in stores, stock control, warehousing, or construction-site inventory management is highly advantageous. Valid driver’s license. Own reliable transportation. Proficient in Microsoft Excel. Strong competency with MS Office. Strong administrative and record-keeping skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Good time-management skills. Ability to meet deadlines. Full proficiency in both Afrikaans and English, both written and spoken. Capable of working independently and collaboratively in a team.
