**Job Description:**

**REPORTS TO:** Technical Manager

**QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:** - Matric or equivalent qualification - Minimum 5 years’ experience in the role of an alarm technician - Extensive experience in programming, wiring, installations, and fault finding

**JOB REQUIREMENTS & OTHER ATTRIBUTES:** - Valid driver’s license is essential - Must be registered with the Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) as Grade C - Proficient knowledge of DSC, FBI, CADDX, IDS, Paradox, and Telecom systems - Familiarity with CCTV, intercom systems, and access control systems is beneficial - Ability to work on-call as needed

**INTERNAL CLIENTS:** - Installations - Servicing - Investigations - Operations - Technical training

**EXTERNAL CLIENTS:** - FADT customers - Suppliers

**DUTY AREAS (TECHNICAL):** - Execute alarm installations in line with quotations - Program alarm panels/systems as per specifications - Provide clients with on-site quotes for additional equipment when required - Plan cable runs in collaboration with the wireman - Obtain customer codes daily and prior to standby duties - Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards after each installation - Offer feedback to the Manager/Supervisor and Call Centre upon job completion

**PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (TECHNICAL):** - Ensure installations adhere to Sales Rep’s quotations - Program alarms according to FADT standards - Quote the correct details - Comply with SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) requirements - Obtain correct customer details before attending calls - Complete handovers, invoices, and job cards accurately and on time - Provide timely feedback to relevant parties

**DUTY AREAS (GENERAL):** - Download daily sites - Maintain stock levels and assist the storeman during stock takes - Keep the company vehicle clean - Submit petrol slips

**PERFORMANCE STANDARDS (GENERAL):** - Ensure stock levels are current and report any discrepancies - Keep the company vehicle clean at all times - Submit petrol slips weekly
