Position Overview
This role involves assessing, diagnosing, and repairing vehicle faults, along with providing maintenance services to vehicles in compliance with original equipment manufacturer (OEM) standards. The specialist will deliver high-quality technical expertise to meet customer satisfaction and uphold the organization's service delivery values efficiently and productively.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct test drives to evaluate completed work and diagnose issues brought by customers. - Move frequently between the Workshop, Service Advisors, and Parts department to create accurate repair quotes. - Collaborate with service advisors and customers to discuss repair orders and provide clear explanations. - Provide precise diagnoses to ensure accurate repair estimates in terms of cost, time, and effort. - Execute assigned maintenance, repair, and diagnostic tasks as per instructions. - Operate in standing or bent positions, utilizing a hoist for overhead vehicle work or repair bays. - Perform tasks such as oil replacement, lubrication, inspection, and repair of damaged or malfunctioning parts. - Handle repairs including removal and refitment of gearboxes, engines, or wheels when necessary. - Utilize diagnostic equipment correctly for accurate vehicle diagnosis and repair. - Adhere to OEM and warranty requirements in all duties. - Ensure that the diagnosis leads to the most cost-effective and accurate solutions for faults or customer complaints. - Maintain service and maintenance timelines within the manufacturer's recommended time percentages. - Return vehicles to customers in a clean, safe, and well-maintained condition post-service/repair. - Produce clear and accurate paperwork, including job cards, reflecting the work performed. - Offer advice and support to fellow mechanics on technical matters. - Ensure effective communication with staff, departments, customers, and service providers. - Maintain a clean and safe working environment. - Complete all relevant OEM and other training on time.
