**About the Role:**

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Casual Cashier to join our team at Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Centurion Mall. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a world-class shopping experience for our valued customers.

**Job Requirements:**

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following:

• A Grade 12 / Matric certificate * A minimum of 6 months' experience in cashier/till operations, preferably in a retail environment * Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic numerical skills * Strong command of the English language, both written and verbal * Excellent customer service skills and a willingness to work in a fast-paced retail environment * Availability to work flexible retail hours, with reliable transportation and/or residency in close proximity to the store

**Key Responsibilities:**

As a Casual Cashier, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Providing exceptional customer service at the point of sale, while adhering to Dis-Chem's customer service policies and procedures * Recording customer transactions accurately and efficiently on the Dis-Chem operating system, with zero tolerance for inaccuracies and a focus on eliminating fraud risk * Maintaining a professional relationship with customers, reporting customer complaints and compliments to the Frontline Supervisor or store management * Adhering to the customer turnover hourly rate and being aware of current sales and promotions * Ensuring the safety and security of colleagues and customers at all times * Managing cash flow, handling daily takings confidentially, and only discussing with management * Processing all purchases, including cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other forms of payment accepted by Dis-Chem * Ensuring the proper use of Dis-Chem's 5-star communication principles, loyalty cards, and cash handling procedures

**Technical Skills:**

To excel in this role, you will need to possess:

• In-depth knowledge of operating cash registers and maintaining cash drawers * Strong command of English, both written and oral * Accuracy and attention to detail * Presentable appearance and emotional intelligence * Analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a high level of accountability * Trustworthiness, honesty, and the ability to manage time effectively

**Desirable Qualifications:**

While not essential, a third additional language would be an advantageous skill to possess in this role.
