**Essential Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:
- A Grade 12 / Matric certificate * A minimum of 6 months' experience in cashier/till operations * Proficiency in MS Office and basic computer skills * Strong numerical skills and attention to detail * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong command of the English language * Basic customer service skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment * Willingness and ability to work flexible retail hours
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Casual Cashier, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a world-class shopping experience for our customers * Adhering to Dis-Chem's customer service policies and procedures, including establishing a professional relationship with customers and reporting customer complaints and compliments to management * Maintaining accurate records of customer transactions on the Dis-Chem operating system, with zero tolerance for inaccuracies and elimination of fraud risk * Managing cash flow and ensuring the safe and secure handling of cash and other forms of payment * Processing all purchases, including receiving and processing cash, bank cards, vouchers, coupons, and other forms of payment accepted by Dis-Chem * Transacting all loyalty cards, including those of our accelerator partners * Ensuring the secure handling of cash and other assets, including the use of safe and secure storage procedures

**Advantageous Qualifications**
