The Consultant: Technical Architecture role involves developing and executing technical solutions to ensure the longevity and efficiency of SITA's next-generation network architecture, focusing on optimal performance, availability, and stability of the Converged Communication infrastructure. The key responsibilities include strategizing, implementing, and maintaining the architecture, overseeing procurement, and conducting research and benchmarking. A minimum of a 3-year National Diploma/Degree in IT or Engineering and 7-8 years of ICT solution delivery experience are required.

Objective of the Role
The primary objective is to compile and analyze business needs, develop, strategize, and execute technical solutions that ensure the longevity and efficiency of SITA's next-generation network (NGN) architecture, thereby guaranteeing the secure and resilient delivery of all Network Technology Strategy services in line with various service level agreements.
Core Responsibilities
Engineer, strategize, implement, and maintain the Converged Communication infrastructure architecture to ensure optimal technical performance, availability, and stability. Ensure the sustained delivery of services for the Converged Communication provisioning technology architecture. Oversee the procurement process for converged communication services or products. Conduct research and benchmarking during the design and implementation of technical solutions. Facilitate the introduction and enhancement of new technologies.
Qualifications and Experience
Educational Requirement: Minimum of a 3-year National Diploma/Degree in IT or Engineering fields (Computer Science, Computer Systems, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering) at least NQF level 6 or a verified/certified alternative equivalent at NQF Level 6. CCNP or CCDP Enterprise plus CCIE Written Exam and TOGAF are advantageous. Professional Experience: 7-8 years in delivering ICT solutions within a Large Enterprise, Service Provider, or Public Sector setting.

Knowledge of: Architecture methodologies and practices, industry architecture standards, ICT environment and operations, government IT frameworks, politico-legal environment, quality assurance, SITA business processes, financial modeling, network modeling, strategy development, WAN principles and topology, network operating systems, internet protocols, services and standards, Government Wide Area Enterprise Architecture (GWEA), project management principles, IT models and frameworks, infrastructure administration and management, architectural skills, business analysis, systems analysis, programming, project management, technology platforms, system design, solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, service-oriented architecture, and software-defined networks. Technical competencies: Architecture and Network/Infrastructure Management. Leadership competencies: Collaboration, communicating and influencing, honesty, integrity, and fairness, innovation, planning and organizing, creative problem solving, responding to change and pressure, strategic thinking. Interpersonal/behavioral competencies: Attention to detail, analytical thinking, discipline, resilience, and stress management.
