Role Opportunity Join our Customer Security Services team to manage the security infrastructure of prominent South African enterprises. You'll design, implement, and maintain Sophos managed security stack, XGS firewalls, SD-WAN, Endpoint and XDR, MDR service delivery, Email Security, and Device Encryption systems across the entire customer lifecycle. This role involves hands-on engineering with a direct impact on customers in a rapidly expanding practice.
Key Responsibilities - Design and deploy Sophos XGS firewall and SD-WAN solutions, including VPN, IPS, web filtering, application control, and TLS inspection. - Configure SD-WAN profiles, SLA policies, and traffic steering across various transports (DIA, MPLS, LTE). - Deploy and manage Sophos Endpoint protection, threat protection policies, and device control across customer networks. - Conduct XDR alert triage, threat hunting, and investigation, and assist in MDR service delivery. - Manage Email Security, including Mailflow, SPF/DKIM/DMARC, and DLP settings. - Handle customer migrations from existing security platforms, including phased cutover planning. - Respond to security incidents, identify and contain threats, and perform mitigation. - Create security posture and compliance reports adhering to POPIA, the Cybercrimes Act, and ISO 27001 standards. - Maintain the RightFax hosted service platform, produce build documentation, network diagrams, and customer handover packs. - Provide remote enablement and training to customer IT teams.
Requirements - Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in network or information security, including firewall administration. - Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, and switching. - Proficient in configuring enterprise firewalls (Sophos, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Cisco, or equivalent). - Familiarity with EDR/XDR alert triage, email security, and Microsoft 365/Entra ID management. - Strong troubleshooting skills with a commitment to verifying findings before reporting. - Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Capability to manage multiple concurrent deployments and shifting priorities. - Available for after-hours change windows and standby rotation. - Valid driver's license and personal transport.
Certifications To secure this role within 6 months of appointment, you must obtain the following certifications funded by Vox Telecommunications: - CompTIA Network+ - CompTIA Security+ - AZ-900 - Sophos Certified Engineer for Firewall, Endpoint, and Email - Aim for Sophos Architect certification as the future development path - SC-200, CySA+, or ISO 27001 qualifications are advantageous
