The Transporter (Port Elizabeth) role involves moving and organizing products for inspection and packaging, ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices and Standard Operating Procedures, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in staging areas. Key responsibilities include confirming batch accuracy, transporting materials, and supporting packaging operations. The ideal candidate should have a minimum Grade 12 education, good eyesight, manual dexterity, and computer literacy, with previous manufacturing experience being advantageous.

DESCRIPTION

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Position products in designated zones for visual inspection and assembly on packing lines • Confirm the accuracy of batches prepared for inspection and packing • Move finished items from inspection lines to the crack detector or packaging lines as needed • Transport materials from the receiving lift to specified process areas as directed • Deliver finished products from the packing area to designated transfer lifts as instructed • Provide support to packaging operations when necessary • Adhere to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across all areas • Maintain cleanliness and organization in material/product staging areas at lifts • Remove waste bins and ensure replacement and availability of waste bins at all times • Keep aisles and pallet jack pathways clear of obstructions • Occasionally perform other departmental or factory tasks consistent with the job’s grade, qualifications, and training • Report any non-compliance in staging areas

REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Minimum Grade 12 education • Ideal candidate should possess good eyesight and manual dexterity • Computer literacy • Previous experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous
