Our client is looking for a seasoned Python/Spark/AI Developer to advance data platforms through the transition of legacy T-SQL operations into Spark and Delta Lake frameworks. The ideal candidate will engage in data engineering, API development and AI-driven solutions, emphasizing robust, type-safe and meticulously tested Python development practices.

Required Skills ·        Minimum 4 years of professional experience in Python development. ·        At least 2 years of operational experience in constructing Spark or similar distributed data processing pipelines. ·        Advanced knowledge of Python 3.12, including type hints, Pydantic, ABC-based provider designs, and contemporary packaging tools like uv or Poetry. ·        Familiarity with Click or comparable command-line interface frameworks. ·        Proficient in Apache Spark/PySpark, including DataFrame API, Spark SQL, partitioning, performance optimization, and driver/executor architecture. ·        Knowledge of Spark Connect. ·        Practical experience in Delta Lake or equivalent lakehouse technologies such as Iceberg or Hudi. ·        Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to accurately convert legacy T-SQL and stored procedure logic into Spark SQL. ·        Strong understanding of hashing, surrogate keys, and set-based deduplication techniques. ·        Extensive experience with pytest, including fixtures, markers, and comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. ·        Experience in developing REST APIs using FastAPI or equivalent frameworks. ·        Hands-on experience with Docker and Compose-based development environments. ·        Proficient in Git and CI practices, including pull request workflows, linting, type checking, and automated testing.
