Our client is looking for an accomplished Python/Spark/AI Developer to assist in modernizing data platforms through the migration of legacy T-SQL workloads into Spark and Delta Lake architectures. The ideal candidate will contribute to data engineering, API development, and AI-enhanced functionalities with a primary focus on robust, well-tested, and specification-driven Python programming.

Skills Required

• 4+ years of professional Python development experience. - 2+ years of experience in creating production-ready Spark or similar distributed data processing pipelines. - Proficiency in Python 3.12, encompassing type hints, Pydantic, ABC-based provider patterns, and modern packaging tools like uv or Poetry. - Familiarity with Click or comparable command-line interface frameworks. - Extensive experience with Apache Spark/PySpark, including the DataFrame API, Spark SQL, partitioning, performance tuning, and driver/executor architecture. - Knowledge of Spark Connect. - Production experience with Delta Lake or similar lakehouse technologies such as Iceberg or Hudi. - Strong SQL skills, with the ability to accurately convert legacy T-SQL and stored-procedure logic into Spark SQL. - Understanding of hashing, surrogate keys, and set-based deduplication techniques. - Hands-on experience with pytest, including fixtures, markers, and unit, integration, and end-to-end testing. - Experience in developing REST APIs using FastAPI or a comparable framework. - Practical experience with Docker and Compose-based development environments. - Strong Git and CI practices, including PR workflows, linting, type checking, and automated test gates.
