Job Description

Hire Resolve is currently seeking an accomplished Senior Procurement Specialist for a prominent precious metals refining company. This 12-month fixed-term contract position is located in JHB East Rand and requires a professional with extensive experience in capital expenditure (CAPEX) procurement and technical purchasing.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and execute the full procurement cycle for capital projects, ensuring efficient and cost-effective sourcing and purchasing.

• Process and validate CAPEX purchase requisitions and purchase orders in accordance with established procurement policies and procedures.

• Assess and confirm pricing, quotations, commercial terms, and contract conditions prior to issuing purchase orders.

• Ensure accurate and timely completion of procurement transactions, maintaining high service levels.

• Promptly resolve purchasing, supplier, invoice, and creditor-related queries.

• Support commercial evaluation and sourcing initiatives.

• Identify opportunities for cost savings and avoidance through strategic supplier negotiations.

• Coordinate and facilitate requests for quotes (RFQs) for capital projects.

• Act as the primary contact for CAPEX sourcing inquiries.

• Ensure purchase orders are issued in line with approved contract terms and conditions.

• Monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders and deliveries.

• Provide regular updates to Project Managers and end users regarding order status and delivery timelines.

Requirements

• Completion of Matric qualification.

• NQF Level 5 qualification in Supply Chain Management or Procurement.

• 3–5 years of experience in a CAPEX purchasing environment.

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in technical purchasing.

• Comprehensive understanding of Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.

• In-depth knowledge of CAPEX purchasing processes and cost drivers.

• Technical purchasing knowledge related to capital projects.

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Email, and Word.

• SAP experience.

• Strong analytical, planning, and organizing skills.

• Problem identification and resolution capabilities.

• Proficient procurement and supplier management skills.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.

• Strong commercial and contract management skills.

• Excellent negotiation and cost-saving capabilities.

• Vendor management and relationship-building skills.

• RFQ coordination and sourcing expertise.

• Knowledge of procurement governance, policies, and compliance requirements.
