Our Citrusdal client is looking for a seasoned Manager for Export Operations to head the export business division. Working in tandem with the Managing Director of Packing & Marketing, this role will involve overseeing:

Export operations Supply chain and logistics Fruit distribution on a daily basis Demand and supply management Process management Operational and commercial risk management

Key Responsibilities

1. Leadership, Planning & Execution of Operations Head the export operations team and manage the Export Management Operating System to ensure seamless execution throughout the export value chain. Oversee supply-demand planning, logistics, export documentation, and programme delivery as per the established marketing and export plan. Identify opportunities for improving efficiency, processes, systems, and overall execution.


2. Strategic Planning, Resource Allocation & Risk Management Optimise product distribution across customers, markets, product specifications, supply constraints, and operational requirements within the agreed strategic framework. Ensure proper alignment of supply, customer demand, and operational capacity. Identify and manage key operational, commercial, and supply-chain risks.


3. Financial Oversight Lead the annual planning and budgeting for the export business unit. Drive cost control, financial discipline, and accountability. Deliver clear, concise, and actionable progress reports and risk analyses.

Requirements & Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess

Leadership experience in the fresh produce, export, supply chain management, or related sectors. A relevant tertiary degree in Management, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven track record of leading multidisciplinary teams. Strong managerial skills in planning, logistics, and export execution. High emotional intelligence and the ability to lead efficiently under pressure. Skills in building trust, engaging constructively across functions, and developing people. Experience operating in complex, fast-paced environments. Excellent communication skills and sound judgement. Fruit industry experience, although advantageous, is not mandatory.
