Position Overview
Status Staffing is currently looking for a skilled Machine Builder/Assembler to join their team in Bellville, Cape Town. We are seeking candidates with a minimum of five years of experience in factory or manufacturing environments, particularly in machine building or mechanical assembly.
Qualifications and Requirements
The successful candidate should possess
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a factory or manufacturing setting • Previous experience as a Machine Builder, Mechanical Assembler, Fitter or similar role • An N4 Mechanical qualification • A Fitter/Millwright Artisan qualification • A Forklift License • Basic proficiency in MIG/TIG welding • Strong knowledge of mechanical assembly, hand tools, measuring equipment, and mechanical components • Safety qualification or training, such as NOSA, is an advantage
Additionally, the candidate must:
• Be safety conscious and physically fit • Be comfortable working at heights • Have their own reliable transport • Be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Job Duties
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Assembling and fitting various mechanical components including gearboxes, pulleys, sprockets, chains, conveyors, rollers, and bearings • Working with sheet metal and structural materials such as mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, angle iron, tubing, and flat bar • Using electrical and mechanical hand tools and precision measuring equipment • Operating a forklift within the scope of the relevant license • Adhering to all workplace health and safety procedures
Hours
• Monday to Friday: 08:00 – 16:30
Salary: R65 – R70 per hour depending on experience + overtime allowance
